Juggling Club to present Dangerous Toys show Saturday

AMES, Iowa -- Whirling torches, spinning machetes and heavy bowling pins will be just a few of the items the ISU juggling club will be tossing around at two Dangerous Toys shows Saturday.

The first show will begin at 6 p.m. and the second show starts at 7 p.m. Both shows run about 45 minutes and are free and open to the public.

The shows will be at the corner of Fifth Street and Grand Avenue in Ames in the parking lot west of City Hall.

"Last fall we hosted an event in downtown Ames, and we had a great turnout," said Joe Kohlhaas, president of the club. "The big audience really had a good time. I hope we can have even more people come out for this one."

The event will be one of the few times each year that all members of the club will be performing at one time. Some of the demonstrations will involve a giraffe on a unicycle and jugglers on stilts. In fact, the club welcomes everyone to come and participate.

"We are very open," said Kohlhaas. "Whether you are a student, community member, experienced or a newcomer to juggling, you are welcome to come, learn and perform."
