ISU student's study finds high heels may lead to joint degeneration and knee osteoarthritis
ISU student will represent Iowa in Ms. Wheelchair America, Aug. 9-15

Samantha Edwards has finalized her platform and composed her
competitive speech. Although nervous, she's excited about
sharing her message at the Ms. Wheelchair America 2011
competition. Edwards, a junior in journalism and mass
communication from Marshalltown, will be one of 28 contestants
who vie for the national title, Aug. 9-15.

Gold brings a smile to the face of Rachel Derscheid
ISU-based team wins Ultimate world championship in Czech Republic
A mostly Iowa State University team won the World Ultimate Club
Championships for the sport of Ultimate in Prague, Czech
Republic.
The team is called "The Chad Larson Experience" for a
friend of the team, and beat a Canadian team in the finals,
17-10.
Ultimate is a field game in which teams score by throwing a
flying disc to other players to advance down the field and
score. It was formerly known as Ultimate Frisbee.
Design students create ISU Farm Program Show display
Students in a College of Design studio took their ideas from
concept to reality, creating a new, interactive display for the
ISU Extension exhibit at the 2010 Farm Progress Show. They
developed a logo, signage and four main display components that
focus on soil. The exhibit, "Working together to care for
our land," will fill ISU's 120-by-50-foot building
during the annual event held this year in Boone, Aug. 31-Sept.

Iowa State's external funding hits record $388.2 million in FY 2010
Iowa State attracted a record $388.2 million in grants, contracts, gifts and cooperative agreements during fiscal year 2010, an increase of $83 million and 27 percent over last year's record.
