Iowa State University College of Business names Accenture faculty fellow

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's College of Business has named the new Accenture Faculty Fellow in Management Information Systems (MIS). This fellowship is for a three-year term.

Anthony Hendrickson, associate dean of graduate programs and associate professor of management information systems, is the first Accenture Fellow. This recognition is based on contributions to the MIS profession through research excellence, contributions to the mission of the college and to the education of students.

"I am very appreciative of Accenture's generous support in funding this fellowship," said Labh Hira, dean of the College of Business. "This gift illustrates their belief in the contributions and quality of our faculty as well as the strength of our management information systems program."

Hendrickson came to Iowa State in 1996. He researches virtual organizations, technology acceptance, cross-national differences in computer-use ethics, the impact of the information technology function on organizational structure, and team development on computer-mediated decision processes.

Hendrickson works on a number of outreach projects and executive seminars sponsored by the college and university. He is a member of the MBA core faculty, Distance Education Council, Iowa Small Business Development Center State Advisory Board, and has served as advisor to the MIS Club. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, Decision Sciences Institute, The Institute of Management Science and Sigma Iota Epsilon. He is a charter member of the Association of Information Systems.

He is associate editor of the European Journal of Information Systems. He also reviews for MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Decision Sciences, and OMEGA, The International Journal of Management Science.

He received his bachelor's of science in 1980 and masters of business administration in 1981, both from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville; and a doctorate in philosophy in 1994 from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
