PAPPAJOHN ENTREPRENEURIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS ANNOUNCED
AMES, Iowa -- For the fifth year, 10 Iowa State University students from the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship will each receive $1,000 scholarships from the John and Mary Pappajohn Scholarship Fund.
The 2003 Iowa State winners are: Tama-Lea Bence, Indianola, senior, management and entrepreneurship; Nathan Hein, Monticello, junior, veterinary medicine; Casey Kann, Garnavillo, senior, industrial and manufacturing systems engineering; Brian Keehner, Farmersburg, junior, agriculture; Eric Kosch, Iowa City, junior, industrial engineering; Andrew O'Connor, Orland Park, Ill., senior, management and entrepreneurship; Jason Reiman, Templeton, senior, management and entrepreneurship; Steven Saltzman, Corning, junior, electrical engineering; Jon Schmidt, Ireton, junior, veterinary medicine; and Eric Thompson, Ottumwa, junior, management information systems.
The students were selected for their involvement in entrepreneurship programs, including academic courses; extra-curricular activities; and their experience and aspirations in business ownership.
John Pappajohn, a well-known entrepreneur and successful venture capitalist in Des Moines, created the John and Mary Pappajohn Scholarship Fund in order to reward and encourage entrepreneurial activity among Iowa's college students.
