Iowa State's architecture program was fifth in the publication's ranking of 40 schools that have non-resident tuition of less than $19,999 per year. The rankings appear in the publication's current issue. The DesignIntelligence rankings were based on a program's rating by practitioners; selectivity; culture and learning environment; technology, studios and library resources; reputation of the dean, faculty and students; and cost of tuition. The publication also asked architecture firms to rank the academic programs in their own regions of the country.
