AMES, Iowa -- An expert on attracting, managing and retaining young professionals will speak at Iowa State University at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, in the Stark Lecture Hall, 1148 Gerdin Business Building on the Iowa State University campus. The event is free and open to the public; pre-registration is encouraged.
Rebecca Ryan, president of Next Generation Consulting, Inc., Jackson, Wis., consults nationally with companies and economic development agencies on issues involving young professionals. Her topic Jan. 8 is "Show Up, Reach Out, Dig In: A Call to Corporate and Community Action."

She also will explain what young professionals can do to promote positive change, build leadership skills, learn self-improvement techniques and discuss communication strategies.
"We are very pleased to have Rebecca Ryan as our first guest speaker in the new Gerdin Business Building," said Anthony Hendrickson, associate dean for academic programs for the College of Business at Iowa State.
