BEATTY NAMED SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
AMES, Iowa -- J.D. Beatty, a former assistant dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a part-time consultant for that college, has been named as special assistant to the dean of Iowa State University's College of Education.
Beatty will work with faculty, staff, students and State of Iowa officials on teacher education and teacher licensure. This is a part-time appointment.
Beatty also served as chief-of-staff for the president of the 51,000-student University of Colorado (CU) system. He assisted with the supervision and coordination of the four campuses: Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver and the Health Sciences Center, located in Denver and at the Fitzsimons Campus in Aurora. He also worked closely with the Board of Regents and the CU Foundation.
Prior to his work in Colorado, Beatty was on the faculty in the department of English at Iowa State for 32 years. He has experience in administration, student advising and teaching.
